The hardware for electron microscopes that we manufacture and distribute falls under the German ElektroG waste regulations, as well as the European WEEE Directive and therefore must not be disposed of with household waste. This is indicated by the symbol label with the crossed-out wheelie bin affixed to the device, which is underlined with a black bar.

Devices marked in this way must be properly recycled. However, this does not mean any additional effort for you: We offer our customers in Germany the option to return the electronics purchased from us for proper disposal. We assure you that we will handle end-of-life devices professionally and in an environmentally friendly manner and take care of their reuse, recycling, and disposal.

How does the return process to us work?

To return devices we have supplied, please proceed as follows:

1. Please register your end-of-life device(s) purchased from point electronic GmbH for return by sending an email to info@pointelectronic.de. Please provide the model, article and serial number, the purchase date from point electronic GmbH, and the subject line "End-of-Life Device Return" for each device.
2. We will then contact you to coordinate the details of the return and transport process. The choice of transport provider depends on the number of devices as well as their size and weight.
3. The return shipment is free of charge for you: We will prepare a return label and send it to you via email. Please attach this label to your shipment.
4. Please note that you can only return the hardware in the form we delivered. If you have integrated our systems with other systems or devices, these must be separated and returned through the respective vendor. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact us.
5. Delete all sensitive or personal data from the devices to be returned.
6. Before returning, please remove batteries, accumulators, and light sources that are not permanently installed in the devices and dispose of them separately through official collection points.
7. Package the device(s) professionally and carefully. If packaging is not possible, e.g., due to dimensions, please provide a corresponding note.

Note on personal responsibility for sensitive or personal data

Please carefully check the devices registered for return, remove your sensitive or personal data before sending them to us, and back them up if necessary.

point electronic GmbH assumes no warranty or guarantee for the destruction of data stored on the device.

Transfer of ownership for recycling

By accepting our return offer and sending the end-of-life device(s) to point electronic GmbH (transfer), ownership of the sent item(s) is transferred to point electronic GmbH free of charge and without any further contractual documents.

Upon receipt of the end-of-life device(s) due to the return, recycling begins. point electronic GmbH is commissioned with the professional handling of the device(s).

There is no later legal claim to the device or a rescission claim by the sender.

Acceptance of our return offer does not entitle you to a refund of the purchase price or residual value.

Reporting of end-of-life device returns by point electronic

point electronic GmbH reports the return and proper disposal anonymized in its annual report to the EAR Foundation in accordance with legal requirements.
